About the Presenter


Kimberly Crowley, Thunder Clan of the Ho-Chunk Nation. Master Black Ash basket maker for over 45 yrs, following in the footsteps of mother Christine Hall and grandmother Lula LInk, all having baskets in museums here in Wisconsin as well as the Smithsonian in DC, recent video for Discover Wisconsin about the Black Ash baskets.

Beni Daiko, Madison Japanese Taiko Drumming Group

Join us and explore a facet of Japanese culture with this rousing presentation by "Beni Daiko," Madison's premiere mainland taiko drumming group.  The group's goal is to teach, preserve, and perform the ancient art of Taiko drumming, a form of traditional Japanese musical expression that combines mental discipline and physical demand.  The presentation is exciting and fun for all ages. UW Russian Folk Orchestra

Join the UW Russian Folk Orchestra for an unforgettable evening of music. The UW Russian Folk Orchestra, is an official University of Wisconsin-sponsored ensemble specializing in live performances of Slavic and East-European music using authentic folk instruments such as balalaikas and domras. 

Care & Repair: Biking Across the U.S. with Sam & Chick Westby

Sam and his dad Chick will share about their 3,600 mile journey from Oregon to New Jersey on bicycles. Over 42 days, they pushed through harrowing weather, crossed mountains, and stopped at lots and lots of gas stations. Bike touring comes with many unexpected twists and turns, requiring them to repair their bikes along the way, and care for each other as challenges arose. Join us for an evening of storytelling and education that you won’t forget!
